VCU Classroom Technology

As a result of feedback from our user survey last Spring, we are going to offer our first ever online training webinar about how to use our classroom systems.  This webinar will be a live demo of how our standard classroom system functions and will provide you with the opportunity to ask questions remotely. The system that will be demonstrated in this webinar represents the current standard system located in all of our standard classrooms (Click here to see if your room has a Standard Classroom System).   There will be an overview of the system capabilities followed by a Q&A period.  Our hope is to answer questions about what the systems are capable of BEFORE you are faced with a room full of students.  There is a limit of 100 attendees, so please sign up as soon as possible to secure your spot.  We will be recording this session and will make it available on our Classroom Support Website if you will not be able to attend.

Call us at 828-1098 (Monroe Park Campus) or 828-3400 (MCV Campus) to schedule a One on One training session in your classroom before the semester starts.  As long as the room is available, we’ll schedule a time in your specific room.  If your room is not available, we will find a space with the same system capabilities during a time that fits your availability.  If you teach in The Monroe Park Campus Learning Commons (MCALC) please see the note about dedicated training windows below.  We can schedule training sessions after the semester begins, however, room availability will be very limited.  We usually have to schedule training sessions at the beginning of your assigned class time during the semester.

The Monroe Park Campus Academic Learning Commons rooms are our most densely scheduled spaces on campus and therefore are very difficult to schedule for individualized training sessions.  In an effort to alleviate this difficulty, we have reserved two of the lecture halls in MCALC on Tuesday, August 22 from 8 am – 4:30 pm specifically for faculty training.  If you would like to schedule a 30 minute, hands on training session with one of our Tech squad in one of these rooms, please call us at 828-1098 and we’ll be happy to schedule a time with you.
