K.J. Ricasata

K.J. Ricasata has joined the staff at the VCU Health Hub at 25th as operations coordinator. In this role, Ricasata will manage, oversee and lead day-to-day office operations, supervise welcome desk staff and support in-person/virtual scheduling, as well as event planning. He will also work to ensure that Health Hub at 25th visitors experience a positive and welcoming space.

“We are thrilled to welcome K.J. to the Health Hub at 25th,” said Natalie Pennywell, director of the Health Hub at 25th. “He brings communications, library information and customer service experience to the position, along with interests in health literacy and equitable information access. He is eager to help his community connect and engage with resources and information that empowers them in their daily health journey.”

Ricasata earned his bachelor’s degree in public relations from VCU and has more than 15 years of public service experience with VCU Libraries. His recent work focused on helping patients, providers and community members find and access reliable health information and resources. A Richmond native, Ricasata resides in the city’s East End.

The VCU Health Hub at 25th is a Richmond East End health education and wellness activity center that helps empower community members to improve their health and wellness. Part of the VCU Center for Community Engagement and Impact, the Health Hub is a place-based initiative supported by VCU and VCU Health. It opened in 2019 and is located at the corner of Nine Mile Road and North 25th Street, adjacent to The Market at 25th.
