Wright Center to host community engaged research seminars
Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research introduces a new three-part seminar series to train early career faculty and researchers in community engaged research.
Community-engaged research (CEnR) is a cornerstone of the Wright Center’s mission, as it works to engage stakeholder communities at every phase of the translational research process. The series will familiarize participants with CEnR concepts and the pitfalls that may befall a project along the translation continuum.
The series hopes to increase the number of VCU junior faculty and researchers who comprehend CEnR and apply CEnR principles to their research. Attendees will be able to:
- explain and recognize the what and why of CEnR
- outline how to develop and sustain CEnR relationships via trust building and setting mutual goals and priorities
- consider and analyze ethical and practical implications of CEnR
The first cycle of the series will occur on second Thursdays this December, January and February. Attendance at all three seminars is highly recommended.
