Highlights: Fall 2024

This fall, Executive MBA students did what they do best—learn, lead and lift each other up.
After a semester in VCU’s Executive MBA program, students have balanced ropes, managed projects and tested their best ideas in front of panels that weren’t about to nod politely. They’ve spent hours in leadership discussions, then put those lessons to work—sometimes midair, sometimes mid-pitch. The Class of 2025 knows the drill. The Class of 2026 is catching on fast. Between trust falls and presentations, here’s a look at the moments that made it out of the camera roll.
Class of 2026

Dr. Chris Reina kicks off the Executive MBA Welcome Weekend with an introduction to transformative leadership.

Crystal Scott (M.B.A. ‘26) leans into the conversation during a graduate professional development session.

Leadership lesson of the day: Don’t look down. Students pushed past fears and leaned on each other at a ropes course challenge.

Adjuncts Vincent Foley (M.B.A. ‘04) (left) and Brent Reese (M.B.A. ‘18) (right) guide first-year Executive MBA students through the RFP/Video project.

Leading a team is one thing–keeping their attention is another. The ‘Dream Team’ puts their presentation skills to the test.
Class of 2025

Ideas sound great in theory. Then comes the part where everyone has to work together to make them happen.

Class of 2025 Executive MBA students gathered off-campus at Luck Stone for a hands-on leadership and teamwork challenge.

A hard hat won’t help if the idea doesn’t hold up. Students pitch their best quarry safety innovations in a ‘Shark Tank’-style presentation.

At the Capital One 1717 Innovation Center, Matthew Littlefield (M.B.A. ‘25) presents his team’s startup pitch to a panel of industry professionals.

Matt Woolman (M.F.A. ’96; M.B.A. ’01) watches from the audience waiting to see which ideas land–and which ones don’t.
