Mayoor Mohan named interim associate dean for strategic affairs at VCU School of Business

Mayoor “Max” Mohan, Ph.D., professor of marketing at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Business, has been named interim associate dean for strategic affairs, effective August 16.
In this role, Mohan will lead and support several strategic efforts for the dean’s office, including the launch of the School of Business’s strategic plan, collaboration with the upcoming School of Interdisciplinary Studies and the development of faculty and culture-building programs. He will also have oversight on fundraising and development efforts and continue to support the school’s core priorities, such as graduate, online and international programs.
Mohan has been a faculty member at VCU since 2013. He also serves as executive director of RVA Views and co-director of the Customer Experience Lab. His scholarly research focuses on business-to-business, brand strategy and innovation, with his work appearing in top academic journals and prominent outlets such as Forbes and Bloomberg.
Mohan’s leadership has been actively represented in the strategic planning process and on the Faculty Senate, Faculty Council and various university committees. He has also been recognized with several awards, including the VCU School of Business Award of Excellence, the Distinguished Scholar Award and the Distinguished Teacher Award.

Taking on this role presents an incredible opportunity to collaborate with our talented VCU and VCU School of Business faculty, staff and students,” said Mohan. “Together, we will work on efforts that will support the direction of the school and create opportunities for growth across our community.”
Mohan holds a Ph.D. in business administration (marketing), a master’s in international studies and a bachelor’s in marketing from Oklahoma State University.
He will serve as interim associate dean for strategic affairs through the 2024-2025 academic year.
