The VCU School of Business is proud to announce the addition of Alexandra (Alex) (M.S. ’09) Fotiou Moore, CFRE, as executive director of development. Moore will lead the school’s philanthropic efforts and fundraising initiatives.

Moore comes to VCU from the University of Virginia where she was the director of development for the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. Prior to that, Moore spent eight years fundraising for the YMCA of Greater Richmond, rising to the position of vice president of philanthropy.

Moore is a proud VCU alumna, graduating from the Center for Sport Leadership, the School of Business’ internationally ranked sports management master’s program. Moore worked at VCU for almost five years as director of stewardship for VCU Athletics and then as assistant director of donor relations for the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, working closely with President Michael Rao.

“Alex brings a lot of experience to our development team, and I’m excited to welcome her to the School of Business family,” said Interim Dean Brian Brown. “She is a proven team builder and the right leader to support our alumni’s connection to the school and set it up for serving generations of future Rams.”

Moore earned her undergraduate degree from James Madison University in 2008. In 2012, she was selected as the recipient of the Virginia Association of Fund-Raising Executives’ Rising Star Award and received her Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2018.

Moore is married to Mitchell Moore (B.S.’07; M.S.’08), also a VCU alumnus. They have a son, Gavin.
